Frequently asked questions are answered below. Any other queries, feel free to contact us directly either by email or telephone.

Who are we?

NS Medical Systems is a medical technical services provider who work with all types of medical equipment such as ECGs, Spirometers, Blood Pressure Units, Oximeters, Electrosurgical Units, Audiometers, Scales, Thermometers and more. You can view our main site by clicking here to see the services we offer! We are based in the North West and have been operating since 2001!

How does it work?

We have kept our service as simple as possible. You purchase the relevant service for your alcometer, once purchasing the service you have to pack and send the item to our workshop, from there we will re-calibrate it and return it within 24 hours of receiving on the basis that the unit is in good working order beforehand. The item will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24 and we advise you use a similar courier when shipping the item to us for reliability.

Which breathalysers / alcometers are we able to calibrate?

We can calibrate most breathalysers that are available in the UK. We regularly work with AlcoVisor and Lion. The specific models are, Lion 500, Lion 700, AlcoVisor Jupiter and AlcoVisor Mercury. If you have a printer with your unit we will also test this free of charge.

Can you repair alcometers / breathalysers?

Most alcometers / breathalysers are built for reliability and have a low chance of becoming damaged. A lot of parts within an alcometer are irreplaceable, although we can attempt repairs we will not guarantee a success every time.

Do you sell mouthpieces?

Yes, we supply mouthpieces for most models of Alcometers, if your model is not stated please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will be more than happy to help. Brands we stock mouthpieces for include Lion, Drager, AlcoVisor, AlcoSense, AlcoDigital and more.

Do I recieve a certificate?

Yes, once we have calibrated your device we will email you a copy of the certificate for your records which will state the calibration date and any data relating to item testing.

What are the calibration intervals?

The requirement is that each alcometer is calibrated every 12 months. If you are using the device in a workplace environment it is advised that they are calibrated every 6 months for maximum accuracy. Some devices lock after 6 months if they are not calibrated, this is the case with some Lion alcometers. The AlcoVisor Mercury / Jupiter can have a custom interval, depending on what you use it for it will be set to either 6 or 12 months. Please contact us if you have any further questions in regards to this matter and we will be happy to assist. By default, we calibrate all alcometers and provide a 6 month calibration certificate as pretty much all devices come from a workplace environment. Please let us know when ordering whether you would like a 12 month or 6 month certificate for your device.
